Asparagus 2

Another asparagus painting! The one I painted a few days ago sold, and I had planned to use it for my larger grouping. So, I was forced to paint another one. Not my favorite thing to do, repeat a subject. Still, I find every painting has its special challenges and interests, even if it's a repeat. To see how Asparagus 2 relates to Asparagus from a few days ago, page down five or six posts to see the earlier version. They are a little different from one another. First of all, they were two different plates of asparagus! I always paint from life.

This painting, like the other recent ones, is not for sale.

Honey Dew

For the next two weeks, I will not be posting any of the paintings I do for sale. I am focussing on creating a grouping of these paintings for an upcoming competitive show.
However, if anyone particularly likes and wants to buy one of the paintings, I will be glad to accept a commission to re-paint it sometime in late April. Just write to me with your request.

Peaches on a Plate (revised)

Today I got caught without a prepared canvas to do a new painting on. So, I went back into one that I published on March 13th. I brightened it, made the shadows a more distinct color (violet) and refined the peach slices somewhat. I'm planning to put this and some of the others together in a more complete grouping, where, taken together, the paintings are further enhanced. To do that, I may have to go back into paintings after the first day they're published, to polish them up a little.

Asparagus

So now it's food, and in this case, asparagus, perhaps the most sensual of the vegetables.

Ceramic Duck and Green Bottle

I love these kitschy little sit-arounds that seem to come from another era. They seem so simple and honest.

Offering (dark pot and vial)

This was a tough one to do in one afternoon, because of the juxtaposition of such dark darks and such light lights - all in very wet paint. This a beautiful dark little ceramic pot. Even in person, it's hard to tell if it's black, or red-black, or brownish-black. Very soulful.
